Weil Family Holiday Update, Dec.'98
(Click the links at the top or bottom of this page for mini photo albums
of the Weil family.)
After a very eventful year, and more than 10 years of being involved
in the online/Internet medium, we've decided not only to bring back the
holiday newsletter, but also to deliver our 1998 greetings and news on
the web! It's about time we *really* use the medium we've been evangelizing,
eh? :-)
Our biggest news is that we've moved to Columbus, Ohio, and yes, we
are doing just fine. Suburbia must look virtually the same across the
country. Our neighborhood was land-of-the-lawyers in VA and is land-of-the-doctors
here in Columbus; we've got a pond, lots of bike paths, and a wonderful
country club in biking distance; otherwise, it looks the same as Virginia!
The local community spirit is strong here; the Friday night high school
football game is the place to catch up with neighbors and be seen. Columbus
folks have been very welcoming and friendly, and we are settling in.
We snagged a house on a great cul de sac (with kids close to our boy's
ages on both sides of us -- yes!), and we are busily redecorating the
interior, re- landscaping the exterior, and building a large addition
on the side. We've never lived in a home under construction....should
be, ah, well....interesting. They break through the wall on both levels
the first of the year, and I have visions standing in my bathrobe in the
cold talking to the workmen each morning. Yikes!
Our boys are great, and we've included many pictures of them throughout
the site. They are still really good buddies, and moving has brought them
even closer together. While they've still not left the Power Rangers behind
completely, Jake and Brian have switched their allegiance somewhat and
are now serious sports enthusiasts. They are ready to watch any football
game any time; the local Ohio State Buckeyes and Green Bay are favorites.
I'm called on enough for my opinion that I actually am learning a bit
more about the game....Mom has to "get in the game" or get left behind!
After a wonderful summer off, polishing up his golf game, Ken is now
working for Victoria's Secret Catalogue, running their ecommerce site
on the Internet. It just launched and sales are strong; go check it out!
www.VictoriasSecret.com.
Audrey is enjoying work at CompuServe,
helping create the "start up" spirit and generate momentum for this new
brand in the AOL, Inc. line up. The new version, CompuServe 2000, is shipping
very shortly....be among the first to try it by previewing the beta version
now! Email Audrey at AudreyW@cs.com for a copy.
It's been another wonderful year for us. We hope you are doing well,
and will stay in touch. Come visit us in Columbus anytime.....although
winter visitors should expect to wear hard hats!
All the best,
Audrey & Ken, Jake & Brian
